An etxremely rare engravers error: CONSEGRATA instead of CONSECRATA

Engravers error with 'CONSEGRATA' instead of 'CONSECRATA'. AB HOC ÆDIFICATA / A•DCCCXXXIV• Kneeling St. Meinrad to right in a log cabin in front of the Einsiedeln Madonna. Rev. DIVINITUS CONSEGRATA• [sic!] / A•DCCCCXLVII Chapel of Grace in Einsiedeln. SM 934. Extremely rare with this engravers error. Nicely toned. The usual die break on the obverse and minor edge nicks, otherwise, about extremely fine.


The Einsiedeln Abbey is the largest place of pilgrimage in Switzerland and an important stop on the Camino of Santiago. This medal on the famous chapel in Einsiedeln is a curious and apparently unpublished variety with a engravers error.
